There are different types of ftret gut, just like there are different types of strings. Some are regular strings that might have a tiny flaw. Some are a softer, flexible string that is easier to tie. And some are just regular strings. The regular strings sound the best. IMHO. The soft ones also groove out faster, but they can also be rotated easier into the groove gaps. The regular strings may be ever so slightly more likely to pop a knot.
