I have played at a funeral before. In fact, the lady discussed with me the repertoire I would play at her funeral only a week before.

As in where the deceased is lying in an open casket, to be viewed by family and friends...? I was hired yesterday to play at one on Monday. An hour and a half's worth of lute music. This is unique in my experience: I've never even seen a dead body before, let alone provided ambient music for such an occasion. It's gonna be interesting...
