> I vote for two staves. It is more accurate and scholarly, IMHO. scholarly, ok; accurate?!? accuracy depends on the proofreader, between two forms of staff notation I would think the single-staff would be more likely to be accurate done by a human, but would expect no significant difference from a computerized transliteration.
> Economical? yes, single-staff with ledger lines uses less space vertically. As to how many copies, speaking as a former music thesis typing specialist, at least two on acid-free for the graduate school, one each for the committee on quality bond, one each for other reader, close friends, and players if it was a performing DMA with backup band, several for yourself to show at job interviews and give away as souvenirs. Maybe some of those will be on CD or DVD these days. -- Dana Emery To get on or off this list see list information at http://www.cs.dartmouth.edu/~wbc/lute-admin/index.html
