I can't resist this - with hide glue you don't do much clamping, which
is useful because there are some aspects of lute making where clamping
would be difficult anyway. It's really hard to go wrong with it, as
it's very forgiving of not-quite-so-clean surfaces etc. in a way which
modern adhesives aren't. And best of all, it's reversible, even after
hundreds of years. Brilliant!
