not really, hhg is not gap filling, it penetrates the wood fibers and polymerizes; squeeze-out indicates an excess of glue was applied. One can starve a joint by using too little glue. Often joints are 'rubbed', eg, one slides the glued pieces together waiting for the moisture to penetrate and the joint to 'tack'.
