Thank you Howard,
   As I wrote earlier,
   -
" without evidence so is a contrary view that a live animal was
suddenly discovered adopting this pose........ We're surely all not
unaware of set-ups these days - often for the 'entertainment'
   industry."
   -
As you say, a lot of trouble to go to, but then so are many set-ups....
   -
   As I also wrote earlier
-" Personally I think the my presumption is by far the most likely."
   - Interestingly, having delved further into the site, I see many
comments left on it also reflect this sceptical view - 'though, of
course, this is not evidence either way............
   MH

How flattering that my name has been invoked as highly unofficial
   fact-finder.
Obviously, the only "evidence" is the photographer's statement that he
did exactly what wildlife photographers typically do: find a subject
and wait for it to do something interesting. You can disbelieve it if
you like, but unless you know far more about the habits of dragon
lizards than I do, you have no basis for your opinion, other than an
assumption that the photographer killed two lizards and posed them,
which seems like a lot of trouble, requiring considerable taxidermical
skill; the posture in the second picture seems like it would be really
hard to achieve with a dead lizard. But what do I know?
The leaf-lute shot looks like a curious basking behavior. Maybe the
lizard likes to warm its leaves.
