I don't really understand what you mean by this.
In fact the Cellier drawing has been copied from an earlier source and there another copy of the same drawing in a different manuscript in the Brtish Library. Neither drawing is very clear and not very well drawn.

It's the same thing with the Cellier illustration (search Cellier 4 course guitar pictures).

Why split for both hands? It makes no sense if you just want one octave or the other.
