Why did Bach collect so much "Early Music"? Here's my answer - he was
looking for Indian Music.
I guess the Thomas Cantors had a collection, as did Sweelinck, Gabrieli,
Monteverdi, and Schütz. Frescobaldi and Kapsberger in Rome.
Vincenzo Galilei Contrapunto 2 BM is also Raga Kamod.
Try playing it to a raga recording of your choice.
This encompasses the Baroque, and assuming this was the age of
discovering Raga it maybe not far fetched to call it "Indian Style".
After that, music moved on with focus on tonality.
But good counterpoint is still remembered.
New concepts in this age 15??-1700:
"Style" - why invent the word, if there's nothing to discriminate. Why
the sudden rise of "Concerto" and "Stylus Phantasticus"?
If anyone takes this seriously, go ahead. If there's nothing to it, You
at least discover nice possibilities for intercultural music making.
