To me it sounds like maybe the person you spoke to doesn't know what they
are talking about, and probably can't tell the difference between software
and hardware problems.

Its fair enough if you replace Windows with another operating system you
will no longer get warranty support on Windows any more. Or any issues you
may have with your new OS.

Then again, I don't think I would get that support with Windows even if I
left Windows installed :-(
