I don't have to deal with those, fortunately. Anything that arrives in e-mail
attachments gets renamed anyway in most cases to make it easier to find later.

That's useful, thanks. I'll save it for when the problem arises.

Agreed. On my machines, though, I'm the only user and I'm not responsible for
other peoples' systems, so it's easy to enforce that kind of requirement here.
