Have you investigated sql-ledger? There was a fork, as I recall, which allegedly fixed some of its security vulnerabilities, but that was a while ago now. I would also suggest searching lwn, as Jonathan Corbet has written surveys of accounting tools (motivated by the needs of LWN itself). I haven't used any of these tools, but I've considered using ledger to track my personal finances.
