Hi Morrie,

It does look promising, I downloaded the deb but I have encountered this problem.

Selecting previously unselected package turboprint.
dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting:
loading files list file for package 'mutter-common': cannot open /var/lib/dpkg/info/mutter-common.list (Input/output error)

In 2005 I could have negotiated this situation, but 20 years on my mental acuity has diminished.

How do I progress from here. please?

Hi Andrew,

It's not free, but apparently TurboPrint can provide what you want.

Canon have never been known for linux support, particularly for
any of the fancier Pixma printers. (Can't let any of their sooper
top sekret teck stuff slip onto the interwebs!)

Regards,
Morrie.

I have recently been given  this printer, and despite the WiFi capacity, it is only recognised when I purchased a printer cable for it. I can't get it to print text let alone an image. Is there a good driver for the printer, and how would I go about setting it up? Please.

Kind regards

Andrew Greig
