We are in the process of rolling out a SAN based on the Sun
6920 engine. The SAN is up and running. We want to use SLVM to manage
the storage once it gets to the Solaris host. We are having a problem
when we grow the underlying SAN Volume, the SLVM component does not
recognize the size change and a 'metattach <device>', as you would do
with a mirror to have it resize to the underlying components, has no
effect.

We want to use SLVM devices for the following purposes:

1) facilitate future online upgrade paths (by using a one way mirror
we can migrate to a different SAN ... bigger, faster, stronger, ...
with no downtime)

2) facilitate FS and partition management via Soft Partitions (that
way we are not limited to 7 FSes per LUN)

Our first test was to create a 1 GB SAN Volume, then create a
stripe/concat of the LUN, then use that as a component of a 1-way
mirror. We grew the SAN Volume to 2GB, but could not get the
stripe/concat device to recognize that the underlying LUN had grown.

Is there any way to get a stripe/concat device to re-examine
the device it is built upon and resize (grow) accordingly ?
