That is what we did on our first try. We are trying to set things up
so that we do not need an outage.

Yup, and if you're not using any Soft Partitions it's even safe (if
your careful).

We got bit by the change in initial offest from 5.9 to 5.10 (and later
backrev'd into 5.8 and 5.9), thankfully we did not loose any data. We
are _very_ careful when we work with SPs from now on.

BTW, This morning I had my boss telling me how easy it should be to
modify either the metainit or metattach code to change the size of a
concat or stripe device on the fly. I told him to download the source
and have the code ready for me by Monday :-)
