Some clarifications. 1. LXDE actually supports autostart spec well since the first release. Both lxsession and lxsession-edit work nicely. 2. automount is not supported be cause we're waiting for some redesign. PCManFM is now undergoing a complete rewrite. So, no new features are not going to be added to the old pcmanfm. 3. Feel free to write yet another lxpanel plugin supporting evolution. It's not prohibited by the use of LXDE. The default one is minimal, but you can write a new one and make it an alternative. 4. I'm doing gvfs integration now. Google "libfm" for it. 5. X-KDE-SubstituteUID is not a desktop standard but a KDE extension using by them only.
