For most Linux beginners, it does not matter whether you have "true
workspaces" or just any geometrical area for grouping applications, and
the only relevant thing for me was that the compiz cube rotates to the
correct side once a window gets focused by lxpanel. So, the patch was
perfect. :-)

I can agree to this absolutely, and LXDE as default desktop is surely a
big highlight in this version, since it boots way faster than the
also-included kde or gnome desktop, even with compiz activated, and even
beginners seem to get accustomed to it very well. :-)

Speaking of, I got a lot of requests of "Windows migrants" who miss the
"show attached devices once they are being attached" feature, some kind
of dialog that should pop up in the panel asnking you what to do with
the newly discovered device. Do you have a recommendation for a plugin
that would do this in a non-intrusive way, so that other windows don't
lose focus? Maybe a gnome media manager?

Second request: I'm still looking for a way to access panel-docked
applications such as the volume plugin or network manager, and pop up
their menus by only using the keyboard.
