I don't think it's possible to merge them.
A good example why it's not practical is, do you think it's possible
to merge OpenSuSE and Debian? Shouldn't this create one rock LInux
distro?
Or Try to merge nautilus and thunar?
The structures and design of them are totally different so merging is
basically not possible.
