I see perfectly good reasons to have individual simultaneously visible
terminal windows open. On the other hand I use urxvt and screen heavily.

That said, I haven't really prodded the configurability of lxterminal.
It might be possible to split the window and stuff like that. Good news
in that case.

This is a distribution thing not a development thing. A terminal
application developed inside the loosely coupled organization LXDE
doesn't exactly mean it has to be used.
