I'm posting a separate message because I just subscribed to the list.
I'm no programmer just a simple user (and translator).
I think the new configuration just overwrote the old one and I think
that is fine to happen because currently we don't have so many options
anyway, that is, it can be easily set up again by the user.
In Debian there could be a debconf dialog or an apt-listchanges
message just to inform the user that pcmanfm will reset its
configuration.
If it doesn't overwrite the old lxde.conf then it's even more appropriate.
