Hi,

FYI, at PCLinuxOS we have 2 PCLinuxOS Lxde versions, one full and one mini, two
Openbox
almost standalone, one full and one of the type Education (educational games)
using
Lxpanel, and no Lxpanel crash of freeze reported that I know of at the forum
during the
last months, and at least since we had the actual release :

lxpanel-0.5.8-2pclos2011.i586.rpm 30-Aug-2011 00:32 454K .

Many people use either one or the other flavor, I am pretty sure I would have
noticed if
we met such an issue, especially since we have forums dedicated to the
different pclinuxos
flavors and I visit them regularly. I have put up the Openbox with Lxpanel
versions
myself, and tested them plus had quite a bunch of people testing them directly
on the
forum for a while before it was uploaded to the repositories or for the latest
ones
declared good for all by the testers.

Is it possible to figure out why some meet with issues in one distribution and
users in another don't ?

To the persons who met with crashes or freezes : have you had a look at the file
~/.xsession-errors just after the issue arise or if you don't have one did you
manage to
have a command likely to generate one ? From within ~/.xinitrc for instance ?

Regards,
Mélodie
