fltk seems to do relatively well in terms of bloat (i haven't measured
tho), however since it's written in C++ i am not willing to use it for
any own development.

the optimal gui toolkit should be written in C for maximal portability
and minimum bloat, without any external dependencies like glib, and
feature lua bindings so one could hack quick apps in lua.

i don't think it exists yet, the thing that comes closest is
enlightenment, but i have the feeling they've also gotten way to excited
about feature creep and eye candy lately.
