I think it's possible. Most of the parts of LXQt are ready.
We're waiting for two components to settle down.
If there are no accidents, there might be LXQt 0.8 within 1 or 2 weeks.

However, please make sure the gtk+ version of LXDE get proper updates in Debian.
Recently, Andriy, Henry, and other contributors improved pcmanfm/libfm
and lxpanel a lot!.
While many parts of lxde became dated, these major components really
got serious polishing.
Please help the update of them first.
Andriy just released some new tarballs so it's a good idea to get them
into Debian stable.

As for LXQt, when it's release, we'll make an announcement. It's coming soon.
