I think it's possible. Most of the parts of LXQt are ready. We're waiting for two components to settle down. If there are no accidents, there might be LXQt 0.8 within 1 or 2 weeks. However, please make sure the gtk+ version of LXDE get proper updates in Debian. Recently, Andriy, Henry, and other contributors improved pcmanfm/libfm and lxpanel a lot!. While many parts of lxde became dated, these major components really got serious polishing. Please help the update of them first. Andriy just released some new tarballs so it's a good idea to get them into Debian stable. As for LXQt, when it's release, we'll make an announcement. It's coming soon.
