Well, no new inputs form other developers so far.
I have a new proposal which is not perfect but partially solve the problem.
Luis, please see if this solution is acceptable for you.

1. Use /usr/share/lxqt for both Qt4 and Qt5 build by default
2. All components use the data dir specified by liblxqt cmake config.
3. Add a cmake option to liblxqt so the user can specify an
alternative data dir. For example, developers can pass
/usr/share/lxqt-qt5 to cmake when configuring the Qt5 build.

With this, it still achieves what developers may want and keep other
things as simple as before.
Luis, if you agree with this solution, I think we can fix all other
components to respect the dir specified by liblxqt and we can release
0.8 this week.
