Then how do you explain me that server jabber.org tells me the server google.com isn't known? Whole Jabber network upgraded to Hangouts? :D I used to see Google accounts in my roster - either offline or online, now I see all of them as contacts from disconnected server. That's all. Try to reach me from google account if you want to prove me wrong. And yes, I see my friends from few other servers in roster, some are online, some are offline.
