Do you see the malfunction of plugin-mount after you had used it to unmount the device in question before? I'm asking as there seems to be an issue which makes USB sticks unaccessible when partitions had been unmounted by the plugin. Udisks, the backend it's using, doesn't seem to be able to find the partitions any longer. Haven't had the time to look into this deeper so far, though. Also, you may want to look through the systemd journal or the output of 'udisksctl dump'.
