Hello Peter,
The malfunction occurs while the device is mounted. 
It is a memry card reader.

journalctl gives me:
usb-storage 2-2:1.0
scsi host9: usb-storage 2-2:1.0
scsi 9:0:0:0: Direct Access Multiple Card Reader

udisksctl info -b /dev/sdf gives me nearly 30 lines of information.

I also tried with a usb key, the result is comparable.

But a click on the icon always tells me that there is no device.
