I still have no example of a 'gui redirect' application exhibiting the
problem. I have no idea how to replicate this bug. In fact, the only
application that I know of which sounds like that 'gui redirect' you
describe is LXTerminal itself and I couldn't get it to cause the issue.
user@machine ~ $ lxterminal
(new lxterminal window pops up)
user@machine ~ $ echo "I can still type just fine."
I can still type just fine.
user@machine ~ $
Please provide a list of applications that you know for a fact cause the
issue. Do you see the same problem if you use xterm instead of lxterminal?

mc just intensifies it and breaks the connection with the keyboard.
the failure occurs with any gui redirect.

So this only happen with a specific type of 'gui redirect' applications?
Can you provide a list of such 'gui redirect' applications and their version
so we can attempt to replicate the issue?
You mentioned 'mc', I assume this is 'midnight commander' but since that has
a curses interface, I imagine that you face the problem when you launch a
'gui redirect application' from mc running in LXTerminal.

but not in this case, since the gui is open and is what is known as

Unless I misunderstand, what you describe sounds to me like expected
behavior, not a bug.
If you run a gui program from the shell, the shell will redirect all
input
(keyboard) to the program until the program exits (unless the gui program
forks but most do not). Since most gui programs ignore stdin, whatever
you
type in the terminal will be ignored until you close the gui program.
user@machine ~ $ gpicview
(no output to terminal)
echo "This terminal is no longer busy"
(close gpicview window)
This terminal is no longer busy
user@machine ~ $

Could you provide more detail so we can attempt to replicate?
1- What version of lxterminal on which platform/distro?
2- Clarify what you mean by 'enter an executable'. Do you mean
something
like:
user@mymachine ~ $ /usr/bin/yes
(no output)
(press a key)
y
y
y
y
y
y
...
3- Does the executable get killed when you close the tab or does it
keep
running?
4- Does this happen with every single executable (like /usr/bin/yes) or
only
with some?

It happens whenever you enter an executable. It loses the rendering of
the terminal after entering an executable, so you have to press a key
again to update. The effect gets worse when lxterminal is combined
with mc, it loses even the connection with the keyboard, so it stops
responding and the only way to fix it is closing the terminal tab and
opening a new one....
