Thanks again, however, I don't think the situation has improved at all. Since Feb 3rd there have been ~40 new spam posts, most of them from individual accounts that look clearly generated. Things like igorxb, igorcb, igorts etc., or CommonFirstnameCommonLastnameNumber. Particularly telling if KarenMiller763 writes in Russian.
So yeah, this is very much still going on. It doesn't affect the other forum users I think, but it's a lot of work for the mods (only 2) and sometimes I fear I might miss a legitimate post in the flood. I guess phpBB is a desirable target for spammers and lots of scripts exist. AFAIK about these things, a captcha isn't enough, one will also need to install & constantly upgrade spam detection. I'm just not sure how much longer I want to do this. Often spam deletion takes more time than helping users with actual questions. It's no fun, and I'm not getting paid for it.
