There have been discussions both here and on the forum about whether LXDE is
dead - or, as is always pointed out, just out of active development because
all the major bugs have been fixed and all the major features have been
implemented.

Fact is that there are several pull requests for translation updates and
minor bug fixes as well as some easy to fix issues on GitHub, some of which
are 2 years old and older.

Without commits and, most importantly, new releases from time to time, the
components of LXDE will not be reintegrated into current distributions,
leaving users with the same, outdated versions for a long time. This is
frustrating for everyone - translators, contributors and users.

I myself have translated components of LXDE and contributed to them with
small patches (and would like to continue doing so), but why bother if the
work submitted goes unused for years?

If all that's missing for new releases are people to help LXDE with applying
translations, obvious pull requests, and simple issues in the repositories on
GitHub, I hereby volunteer to do this.

Ingo
