Unfortunately most commercial sites (at least the ones that I use) are
"broken" in this way.
An example I can think of is wellsfargo.com. They only support IE (and
MAYBE Netscape).. But anyway, to use them with Lynx, I have to fake Mozilla.
(I also have to manually refresh on the "looking up acct info" page)
I actually made a "support lynx, test for actual capabilities" support email
a long time ago, but it apparently went nowhere ("we'll look at it for the
future").
Faking mozilla lets me use it *NOW*.
Again, I'm all for the "purity" aspect of not faking it, but again, when we
get out of dreamland and enter reality, unfortunately these kinds of
skanky hacks/compromises have to be made.
