J....ein. The suggested "splash.lyx" is a good idea, especially for
the first-time a user runs LyX. It does not, however, lend itself to
an add-on, beginning or other alteration to Intro.lyx due to the
design of the docs.
Yes, how noble to refer the newbie straightaway to the "Tutorial".
However, to quote the aforementioned "Tutorial":
The "Tutorial" uses the notation outlined in the
"Introduction". If you came to this manual first, go read the
"Introduction". Yes, we mean now.
Now that you know which fonts mean what, we want to talk
a bit about what this "Tutorial" is for.
And so it is throughout the manuals.
Really, I don't think we need to put our PR statement in every README,
manual, doclet, and template. The PR is just that: PR,
advertisement. The manuals are [hopefully] accessible and easy to
read.
I will look into polishing Intro.lyx once I get the official v1.0.0
downloaded [yes, I'm behind the curve; so sue me].
