Hello, LyX is improving nicely!
Here my nstantaneous comments (first impression)
on features in lyx-1.1.6cvs
(rpm Aug 9 from ftp.sylvan.com)
-The possibility to configure the most useful features from a
menu is a clear improvement! (An option to activate automatically
the serverpipe ~/.lyx/lyxpipe in order to communicate with the
very useful program pybliographic could perhaps be included here).
-The option insert external material
(e.g. the insertation xfig files) is a great.
It would be terrific if this could be extended to
floats as well. Is it possible to insert an xfig as
figure float. At the moment i get LaTeX error when I try.
An extension to png files and other types of figures would
be doubly great.
-Citation references.
The default menu is to tall for a laptop, which is a pity.
-Paths.
My default path for documents is ~/doc.
lyx-1.1.6cvs point as default on ~ when I
chose "save as" a newfile. This is apparently wrong.
Looking forward to see a lyx-1.1.6pre1!
