I have downloaded RC2 and will see whether I can try the crashes I reported.
This could take a while because I never had a clear recipe how to trigger them.
LyX does not seem to freeze any more when one clicks on a standard OSX -
dialog. I also have not seen the Problem from Gerhard that LyX crashes upon
closing the applications. I also did not have any problems opening the
downloaded binary — apart from the usual hoops Apple makes you jump through.
Apple support still claims that one can open non-registered apps:
