Hi Koji This may be a problem with Homebrew.
I am running Tahoe 26.1 and downloaded the binary from the LyX ftp site /pub/lyx/bin/2.4.4/. After the download I did do the gpg check in order to make sure no one has tampered with the file. Then put the file on a subfolder of the desktop and renamed it to abc.app in order to avoid any conflicts. When opening the application I did receive the usual error message about programs downloaded in the internet. After providing an administrator password In System settings (Privacy & Security) and insisting on opening it, it worked. So nothing out of the ordinary. As a test, I successfully compiled the tutorial. The system did not show any message which claimed that it could not check for malware.
