Hi,

if the new ERT insets strongly simplify the code then keep them
and remove the old stuff!!!

In most cases, conversion from latex layout to ERT seems to work
problem-free. And in my opinion some minor incompatibilities with
former LyX versions are acceptable provided that 1) LyX tells you about it
when reading old documents (with a short description on how to fix the
problem by hand) and 2) a short note in the NEWS file explains the
reasons (give the user some information and he will accept it).

I assume that the discussion will continue for a while. So what shall I
(as a user) do in the meantime? Go back to an older snapshot (no
purify-cation), convert my text to the ERT insets (Kayvan proposed not to
do so), or set some magic switch that prevents LyX from converting latex
code?

Michael
