On this scale of binary sizes, I don't see it as a problem at all. With
32 MB I am probably out on the low end. What could become a problem, is
dependence on a 'modern' libstdc++ ... but such problems are amenable 
to static linking, I suppose. (The first LyX I ever used was 0.10.7
statically linked. In those days, no RPMs, and nothing else I could get
to work either.)
