Dear Uwe, Did everything you recomended to no avail. During installation MikTeX gets stucked (I left it alone a couple of hours) "Copying C:\ProgramData\MiKTeX\2.9\pdftex\config\pdftex_dl14.map". I think this is still related to the problem arising from scanning c:\windows\fonts.
Any idea?
