Hello,
I guess your problem is that you rely on the number that are inserted
by default in the biblio inset when you add a new biblio entry. What
you should rather do is give explicit and meaningful names to your
entries (by clicking on the grey box). Then what you will see on
screen when you do citation references is that name. However, you will
get correct numbers on paper.
In general, you should not keep the label that is provided by
default. In fact, I even think that this label should not be provided,
so that people are not tempted to use it.
