newbie questions

Ok, my paper looks much better printed on another
printer at work.  Is that a font problem with my
linux (redhat 5.1) pc at home? If so what should I do to 
get better fonts?  

Sorry if that's not directly related to lyx but
I guess that's a problem that a lyx user must
have faced.
