fate of foiltex class

Whats going on with the foiltex classes? Because they are non-free they have been 
removed from tetex and many distros...
it appears I need to migrate to seminar. Is there a good FAQ on the new 
seminar.layout? I'm still using 1.1.5fix2, which is the currently maintained debian 
package.
