I can confirm the bug with qt 4.8.6 and 5.3.2 on linux. In order to report a qt bug it would be needed to write a small reproducer (starting from the code in src/frontends/qt4/GuiImage.cpp). As a preparation for that it would be nice if somebody could report it at http://www.lyx.org/trac/wiki/BugTrackerHome first (including the test case), then a LyX developer might report the qt problem later.
