Jess, What makes the classes you've tried unsuitable for a 'lecture manuscript/draft?' What are the classes you used? If you look at the KOMA-script classes and read the manual you'll learn that you can adjust just about everything so your documents have exactly the flavor you want. If 'titles' (document title or section headings?) are too large for your tastes you can re-define their size in the preamble. More information will allow us to provide more specific responses. Rich
