Thanks for the speedy response, but, alas, neither approach solved my problem.  Paul's suggestion ignored the fact that (at least on MY lyx, v. 2.3.2) there is no Insert > Frame separator Below (as I lamented in my OP).  I vaguely remember seeing, and even using, that magical Separator, but it has now vanished.  Rich's approach merged the moved frame with the one near its new home, but-- since there is no obvious (or known to me) way to insert a separator, their union is NOT what I was looking for.  I am (almost) back to the infamous Square One.

So, finally, here is my question: /How do I move a frame from one part of the presentation to another/, and, while you are educating me-- how do
I insert an end-of-frame where I need one?  I could not find "new
environment", and plain layout didn't do it.  I know this is about as
basic a thing as could be, and Lyx/beamer should not have hidden it as
well as they did, but that's what we have.

Ehud,

A second approach:

1. Open outline window to left of beamer class window if not already open.
2. Place cursor on the frame you want to move.
3. Use the up- and down-arrows at the bottom right of the window to move the
fram to where you want it.

HTH,

Rich
Forgot about that (since I never use the outline window). Unless the slide is moving a zillion spots, that's certainly easier.
