The command buffer should be accessible from View > Toolbars > Command
Buffer (unless it lived in a different place back in 2.3.2), or
alternatively using the shortcut Alt + x (unless that gets mapped to
something else, but it's been Alt + x on my system as far back as I
can recall).
Thanks-- I am getting a great tour of some useful features of Lyx that I
never explored. With Paul's help, I found the command buffer, and typed
/Insert > Separated Frame Below/, but it did nothing. I must be very
motivated, since I did the unthinkable, and (re)read the Lyx/Beamer
manual (V. 2.3). It makes repeated infuriating references to the
missing Insert Frame Separator, etc. It also mentioned some keyboard
shortcuts that do not work, as tips for an easier way of accomplishing
this (apparently heroic) task of inserting an end-of-frame.
Square One is my home now...
