Setting the entire section in a Branch works in the sense that when it is 
non-active, it is not printed. HOWEVER, if I *activate* the branch, the section 
heading has been converted to standard, so the section numbering etc. 
disappears.

So Branch doesn't entirely do what I want.

Hi Brent,

As you mentioned, I think LyX branches can do this. Did you try branches and 
they didn't work for you by chance? You can put an entire section in a LyX 
branch.
