I added the PPA and updated, and I don't think I had to do anything
special--whatever was in the official Ubuntu repo (some release candidate
circa 2.4.0?) got updated to 2.5.1. I did have to change some home
directory .lyx stuff, but that was so easy compared to building LyX from
source/updating QT/etc.
