nearly everybody gave an answer to your request if long documentation could be manged by LyX. I only can agree that LyX is after my experiences much better to handle large docs than MS-Word or similar text processors. My degree encompassed about 110 pages including lots of tables. Especially one table was distributed about 11 pages---- without any problems. This doesn't mean that there were no problem (mostly fine tuning on the ground of LaTeX!), but on these occasions this list of LyX lovers proved to be a reliable source of any needed solution! To sum up, there is less good choice to create vast documents without LyX. Thomas
