Angus,

I only want to write a thesis, perhaps one paper based on it. That`s it.
The way Lyx offers its references ("insert"/ "citation reference") is very nice and allows comfortable handling of references when editing my text. I can`t see an advantage of using a reference manager.

What happens if you export you lyx file to tex and then run latex by hand
multiple times (say 3 or 4). Does that resolve your question marks into
citations?

Can you tell me how to run Latex manually (Miktex)? I was only using Lyx so far.

Thanks

Michael
