Subject: Re: Install unavaliable classes in Lyx
Of course, I can't find it! For this reason I wrote :-)
cv.cls is located in C:\LyX\Resources\lyx\tex (on my computer)
If you use Tex Information to find various .cls files such as
europecv.cls with the "show path" box checkmarked, it will
only show files that come with Latex/Miktex which are installed
in a parent directory usually named texmf, in a sub-directoy.
For instance:
C:\texmf\tex\latex\europecv\europecv.cls
I don't have cv.cls installed under C:\texmf or a sub-directory
either, but have it under the LyX directory as shown above.
So the question is WHY or the reason you write
"Of course, I can't find it!"
Did you not find it because you looked in the wrong place?
Or, did you not find it because it LyX failed to install it?
Because LyX installs cv.cls automatically it is surprising that LyX
didn't install cv.cls on your machine, along with several other files.
Directory of C:\...\LyX\Resources\lyx\tex
6,264 broadway.cls
9,108 cv.cls
8,406 hollywood.cls
20,841 lyxchess.sty
52,951 lyxskak.sty
2,832 revtex.cls
Do you have none of these six files?

I've tried many times, and by many ways to install the unavaliable
classes at my Windows Lyx, but I had no success in. Can somebody give
me some advice do do it? I need mainly the Curriculum Vitae one.
LyX comes already with a Curriculum Vitae class installed. Look for it
in the list of available classes.

I guess that means you've tried sh.exe configure.
If you trying uninstalling LyX and then re-installing
then those files should be automatically installed and
actually they should be there now. Unless perhaps one
of the key helper programs isn't working right like Msys.
Perhaps you mean that you get an error message like
"LyX: Document class not available
The document uses a missing TeX class "cv".
Lyx will not be able to produce output.
OK"
This doesn't seem right to me but if I click OK
on C:\Lyx\Resources\lyx\examples\cv.lyx
then it displays the cv of William Shakespeare.
And finally, the question comes up: Once upon a time did
a cv.cls file live happily with its brethern in its LyX sub-folder?
and later, did some ruthless scalliway delete it, expunge it from
existence, in some ruthless orgy of computer purification?
To be, or not to be,
