The instructions in chapterbib.sty read: "To have a bibliography-by-chapter at the end instead of separate bibs in the chapters, use \usepackage[gather]{chapterbib}, put \bibliography commands in each file, and at the end of the main file." So why do you comment them out? Jürgen
